Dr. Charlene Rousseau

Dr. Rousseau started early on as an entrepreneur form the tender age of 12 years old, traveling to the US purchasing blow pops, and selling them at school in Jamaica for $0.50 US a pop. Flash forward some years later (let’s not say how many) and after working in the corporate sector for over a decade, Dr. Rousseau noticed a challenge organizations experienced working with external vendors, that being, a lack of consistency and continuity with performance development and management solutions. So, it’s no surprise, being an Industrial/ Organizational (I/O) Psychologist, she felt a need to fill this gap offering end-to-end learning and organizational development (L&OD) solutions. With that, Envisionary Development Consulting, LLC (EDC) was born providing performance development and management consulting strategically aligned with organizational vision and goals for measurable impactful results minimizing turnover, maximizing performance; saving her clients time, money, and resources.

Dr. Rousseau earned her PhD in I/O Psychology from Capella University, her MS in the same field from Carlos Albizu University, and her BA in General Psychology from Florida Atlantic University. Her research interest areas are Adult Learning, Distance and Online Education, Training and Development, L&OD, Employee Engagement, Diversity and Inclusion, and Work Life Balance. Her published work, Balancing Work, Family, and Student Roles: A Phenomenological Study of the Adult Female Online Learner includes research examining a combination of the aforementioned topics.

Dr. Rousseau has clocked over 30,000 hours in curriculum design and has over a decade experience in training, facilitation, speaking, coaching, and L&OD consulting in multiple industries including Corporate Settings, Automotive, Sales, Finance, Insurance, Government/Military, University Education, and Call Centers to list a few. Her L&OD programs have led to the enrichment and development of over 10,000 professionals adding to the black of her clients’ bottomlines.

Dr. Rousseau serves on the Board of Advisors for the POCMI, Inc. as well as Keiser University and Baker College Online’s graduate I/O Psychology programs and is an active member of the American Psychological Association (APA), Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP), South Florida Organizational Development Network (SFLODN), Association for Talent Development (ATD), and Florida Diversity Council. She is also an adjunct faculty member at Baker College Online and Southern New Hampshire University Online Graduate School for Psychological Studies, developing and instructing graduate courses in the I/O Psychology field. In 2016, Dr. Rousseau was honored with the National Diversity Council’s Glass Ceiling Award for women who have overcome barriers to climb to the top, achieving personal success while also making it possible for others to more easily follow in their footsteps. She’s also a contributor to the eLearning Guild annual best practices Tips eBook and is an avid blogger on LinkedIn, writing and publishing articles on topics related to the field.

In her free time, Dr. Rousseau loves hanging out with close family and friends, volunteers for Habitat for Humanity building homes for families in the south Florida area, and speaks at a variety of conferences and local events.
